2CHOEY
FINGERS CROSSED
October 16 – November 14, 2021
River City Bangkok (RCB Galleria 3 ,FL.2)
“Fingers Crossed” by 2Choey – the first art exhibition in Thailand that should never be missed.
As a Thai artist, 2Choey has made a name for himself at the international level by displaying his works in many countries, namely the first solo exhibition in Australia followed by the second one in Hong Kong. Most recently, he has planned to show works on the third solo exhibition for his Thai fans to marvel as well.
This art exhibition is entitled “Fingers Crossed”, which is an English expression meaning “expecting things to get better”. He has started to produce works since coming back to Thailand in the wake of the covid pandemic. There is nothing much he can do apart from working on his labor of love, drawing pictures and piling them up, in the hope that he can show them when the situation improves. Every piece introduces a concept that is based on a story. It is akin to a diary recording the stories in which he is interested during the covid pandemic. True to form, his works are littered with social sarcasm, such as the trials and tribulations faced by people, fast food consumption culture, social inequality, environmental and social media issues, all of which are to be presented in a playful mood and vivid colors. His signature character, the Naughty Hands, aka “Fingies”, will be slipped into every piece and combined with sharp lines, looking simple yet dimensional and culminating in the perfect arrangement of elements typical of 2Choey.
