PATDANU TEMEEKUL (Thailand)

Patdanu Temeekul is a Thai artist and a graduate of the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University. He has never been one to box himself in or stick to a particular style. Instead, he changes the way he communicates depending on the context, while still holding on to the ideas and identity at the heart of his work. His philosophy is simple: whatever it takes, find a way to say what you want to say through art. Over the years, he has put this belief into practice through more than ten solo and group exhibitions.

Patdanu has been drawing for as long as he can remember. His talent for storytelling showed up early, when he drew cartoons for his classmates to read. He kept at it through his school years and into university, constantly developing both his technique and the way he tells stories through images. One thing, however, has always stayed with him: his fascination with figurative art and what it means to be human. There was a time when his first solo exhibition did not feature a single human figure, but he eventually found his way back to what had always interested him. Perhaps that willingness to change course without losing sight of who he is is what makes each of his exhibitions feel different and keeps people curious about what he will do next.
