ERTHH

Pop surrealism paintings à la ERTHH, a new generation artist worth keeping an eye on.

ERTHH or Thanatorn Pattarathada is well known as a young and energetic artist with concepts and skills worth noting. He wants to create works of art to bring happiness and reach out to people of all ages in the form of his unique pop surrealism paintings.

ERTHH has been interested in art since he was an elementary school student. Inspired by his favorite cartoon world, he began to paint and sharpen skills on his own in all those years during high school. His leisure activity was to explore art exhibitions in various places that interested him and to study the works of master artists; in particular, Prateep Kochabua, a leading painter who personifies surrealism paintings. ERTHH also strove to be an artist and therefore chose to study in the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University. While he was a student, he experimented with the creation of various techniques himself. He tried his utmost to gain knowledge of various types of arts from books, online media, and works by world-class artists such as Ron English and Mark Ryden as well as seize the opportunity to see art exhibitions as much as possible. He wanted to use the knowledge acquired to develop his own artistic skills all the time until they could crystallize his thoughts and be transformed into pop paintings beyond imagination (Pop Surrealism).

All the paintings are works that reflect his thoughts and identity in a unique way. Inspired by his interest in cartoons, the artist portrays himself sitting among his favorite classic cartoon characters. Model toys that feature pop culture and creative forms in a style beyond imagination reflect the joy of his childhood and invite all viewers to relive the happy moments of childhood together. In addition, various techniques were applied, such as a summary from the study of the theory of light and shadow by Caravaggio, a master artist of the Baroque period in the 17th century. ERTHH experimented with still life compositions to learn how to use light and shadow to create atmospheres and add dimensions to images including techniques for drawing pictures that meticulously kept the details as real as the eye could see.  He has gained such techniques from his dedication to practicing realism painting skills in order to build on the creation of works that were complete in terms of both concepts and skills.  All of these have made his works of art very striking and worth collecting as well as possessing.
